Deseo/Terminal

CENTRE DE CULTURA CONTEMPORÀNIA DEL CARME

Departing from the expression “terminally online”, the installation reflects on hyperconnectivity and the saturation of images in the digital age. The term, which emerged from meme culture, describes those who inhabit the internet in an almost irreversible way, filtering their perception of the world through streams of information, memes, and viral aesthetics. More than a generational trait, it functions as a cultural diagnosis: an existence mediated by screens, where the real is filtered through digital imaginaries and the apocalyptic becomes an everyday grammar.

Against digital fluidity, a low-tech counterpoint emerges: glitches, fractured textures, and echoes of technological ruin that reveal the fragility of the systems we inhabit. In the friction between the hypermediated and the defective, a space appears where the apocalyptic does not announce a catastrophic future, but already dwells on the verysurface of images.
